Dr. Julie Schultz (she/her) has a breadth of experience in higher education that spans student recruitment, transition and success, student learning and development, mentorship, high impact practices, family engagement, and retention initiatives. In her current role as Program Director, Julie provides leadership for STEP, the Scarlet and Gray Advantage Learning Community and Student Learning Outcomes for the Office of Student Life.
Julie previously worked at Ohio State in the Offices of Undergraduate Admissions, University Orientation and First Year Experience, and most recently as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of First-Year Orientation and Family Engagement at Carnegie Mellon University.
Julie earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University and her Doctor of Education degree from The University of Pittsburgh.
Outside of work, you can find Julie taking a hike in a local metro park, sampling a new restaurant in town, or listening to an audio book or podcast.
