STEP Participant Requirements

In order to fully engage in STEP and to remain eligible for the STEP Fellowship, students must:

  • Live 1) on-campus, 2) in Greek-Affiliated housing, OR 3) at home with a parent or close relative, for both autumn and spring semesters
  • Attend weekly cohort meetings throughout autumn semester (1.5 hours/week) with their STEP Faculty Mentor and a group of peers to engage in identity development and self-exploration regarding their strengths, values, and academic and career goals
  • Complete a financial wellness program through the Student Wellness Center by April 1st
  • Attend a STEP Expo by April 1st
  • Engage in spring STEP Faculty Mentor-led events and meetings
  • Develop a written proposal and budget for how they will use their fellowship to support their participation in education abroad, research, internships, creative and artistic endeavors, service-learning and community service, and/or leadership to be approved by their STEP Faculty Member. Students can submit their proposal and budget on their Student Dashboard
  • Report back to the university community following the completion of their STEP Signature Project
  • Be in good standing with the university and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA (required to receive the STEP Fellowship)
